President Mahama has chastised the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for not selecting a competent northerner as its flagbearer.

Citing an example of former Vice President Ahaji Aliu Mahama, President Mahama accused the NPP for paying little attention to northerners.

According to him, the NPP has shown in the past that it has very little respect for northerners and therefore cannot be trusted.

The President made the remarks in Tongo when he resumed his camping tour of the Upper East region after suspending it for three days to attend to the victims of the Melcom disaster in Accra.

He said “our brother Aliu Mahama was Vice President for 8 years. I was Vice President for 3 and half years. For almost 12 years, we have tasted Vice Presidency. It’s no longer exciting. It’s no longer what we want.”

He said if the NPP wants votes from the northern part of the country, then they should put up Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as their flagbearer to face-off with him.

“They want to win here, they should put him in number one and let two of us contest and then they will get something from here,” the president said.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has described the defeat of the republicans in the US elections as a good omen for the ruling NDC and an indication that similar thing will be replicated in Ghana in the upcoming elections.

According to him, anytime the democrat party win an election in the US, the NDC also wins in Ghana, making reference to the 2008 elections.

He said: “In 2008 polls in the USA, Obama won by chasing the elephant into the bush and later the NDC also chased the elephant into the bush in Ghana, and just this week, Obama has again chased the elephant into the bush, which will be replicated in Ghana in December.”

He said the performance of the NDC government in the last four years is enough evidence to encourage more Ghanaians to vote massively for the party in the forthcoming elections.

President Mahama said inspite of the increase in wage bills as a result of the implementation of the single spine salary structure, government is still economically solid to execute more development projects in the phase two of the Better Ghana Agenda.

I have some questions for you and your boss.
why is it that in the time of John Mills not even a single bad reportage did we here or read about Hon. Alhassan Azong until JM and Apaak came into the limelight? Is it that Mills did not know did not know of his competence or both of you are just putting efforts in removing our GOD-sent MP? Ofcourse the latter is the case.

Now lets focus on your latest handicraft. Non of the news papers currently reporting on this false reportage was even at the confirmation of the Hon. MP over the week end. so the question is are we saying the media houses preset (TV3 and JOY NEWS inclusive) did not get wind of the issues said and someone who was not even present rather had the issues better or you Apaak as you did in your previous article which you sold to some media houses reported this one too. Ofcourse I don't your answer because it is obvious you wrote it yourself.

The fact is that, no news paper or online media platform will report anything negative about Hon. Alhassan Azong and it will have an impact; as long as it is not the people of Buluk who are saying such. Am saying this because anybody who comes from Buluk (Builsa) will testify how "angelic" and a God-gifted member of parliament we have.
Mr. Apaak, I personally like the tangent you have taken because you are gradually digging your own grave. you know why? We the people of Buluk want to have a better representation at he top there and God willing we have Hon. Azong and Hon. Agalga until you came in the light at the presidency. However it is clear that out of greed and selfishness, you want not only our Dear Hon. Azong out of parliament, but even his ministerial position revoked. This is the highest betrayal to the people of Buluk. There is not political party name attached to Buluk not even a letter from any of the party names matches will Buluk. so how dare you betray us.

I had a lot of passion for journalism in the past. But some cheap, opportunistic journalists like the one who wrote this piece of chaff are making me to lose interest and respect for journalism. If you call yourself a journalists/editor just because you will sit in your offices to receive monies from desperate criminals like him, then declare yourself a disgrace. You are so shameless.
On the other side,
Who ever that is behind this should remember that Constituency level politics are not played on newspapers, radio or television stations. Come down to the Constituency.
