Ghana is paying six times its total oil revenue as interest on the country’s total public debt stock; that’s the computation done by former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“We’ll reach GHC99billion by the end of this year 2015,” the Running Mate to the Flagbearer of the biggest opposition Party said in a post-budget presentation interview with Richard Sky of Citi FM.

“The interest on this debt alone is going to be six times Ghana’s oil revenue,” Dr Bawumia said.

“When we found oil, we were happy that we found oil, but the borrowing of this Government has compromised the whole oil discovery; you need six times our oil revenue just to pay interest on the debt, not even capital, so, it is a really sad development,” he complained.

Secondly, there is a big difference bewteen appreciate and endrose.

As for me there is nothing wrong with the Chief appreciating what Mahama may have done for the Kwahus, if he has evidence thereof.

The Chief been a testament to the good works of the President is only saying and testifying what he has been part of. The President has in reality provided the people of Kwahu good drinking water, connected communities to the national grid, and expanded the road network of the place.

So what is wrong with appreciating such tremendous development?

The NPP is only showing its frustration, but whatever the claim, Mahama is already his bid for a second, and it is as a result of his good works over the period.

Kings and Chiefs are not supposed to be partisan because they lead people who may belong to different political parties. Therefore, coming out and openly declaring such a support a sitting President is unfortunate.

Call Spade a Spade,the Adonten Hene of Kwahu was right in his comments.The late Omanhene of Kwahu was an ardent supporter of the NPP.He did not hide this from any body.What did the entire Kwahu region get from the NPP?.Absolutely nothing.Typical example was the state of the roads during The Kuffuor government.Rather strange that the late Omanhene of Kwahu had to approach His excellency John D.Mahama and without any delay, the Atibie Nkawkaw road took off.It is rather sad that the late Omanhene never lived to see the completion of the project.The Present head of the Kwahu Traditional Council is not stupid, he is not blind, he is very appreciative of what is happening and I hope right thinking people in GHANA would follow the Chief's example of commonsense honesty. The NPP group of noise makers went to the palace of Kwahumanhene, waving ALL-DIE-BE-DIE signs and red cloths, but were quickly chased away by staff of the King. One staff member was heard telling the NPP noise makers as they ran that the palace of Kwahumanhene is not the EC office, and to take their useless noise back to the grounds of the EC building where they've been waging a hopeless campaign against the EC.

We're told that the NPP noise makers abandoned their elephants and ran away on foot. They must have listened to Bob Marley who sang that "he who runs away lives to fight another day". However, in the case of these serial liars and noise makers, its not living to fight another day, it's all about living to tell more serial lies.
