I think the police should be contacted for the true story. Police are a state entity not private guards. The Hon may be generally fearful, because the evil that men do lives after them. He is handing from own shadow.

In any case standing in an open - top Police vehicle which is for the people and not for your office is an abuse of privilege. It will appear to the people that you are the IGP and the Police Service reports to the NDC full stop. Accept your responsibility and apologies to the people.
