DR BAWUMIA ,THE ECONOMIC PROPHET, ON THE $250 MILLION NDC TOOK OUT OF THE $1BILLION EUROBOND FROM BOG AND DEPOSITED FOOLISHLY & NONSENSICALLY AT THE UNITED BANK OF AFRICA (UBA)--------READ BELOW------ Beyond the issue of legality, there is the issue of prudence in the management of Ghana’s resources. How do you go and borrow money for 10.75% (US dollar) and give it to someone to lend it to you at over 20% (GHC)? In effect you are paying over 30%! Assuming stable exchange rates, Ghana will be paying additional interest of at least $50 million a year on this transaction. It really is reckless. The government is claiming that the funds were “idle”. Really? What does that mean? Why do you borrow funds and pay interest on it if you do not have use for them at the moment? It is clear that the GIIF does not have a portfolio of projects ready to invest in and it is weird to allocate a whopping sum of $250 million to them at this time. Is the Minister aware that the country owes N-Gas some $100 million? What about other contractors who are owed money by the government? How can you owe so much, have so much to do and yet claim to have “idle” borrowed funds? The allocation of such an amount to a private bank also has major macroeconomic consequences for a relatively small economy like Ghana. It increases the deposits of the banking system and ultimately the money supply. It has inflationary and exchange rate depreciation consequences and would make it more difficult for the government to meet its inflation target. I am surprised that the government is oblivious of these consequences. The Funds should stay at the Bank of Ghana. After all the Bank of Ghana, on its own or through its external fund managers of the caliber of internationally reputable banks like UBS, JP Morgan, Citibank, Merrill Lynch etc. can undertake whatever investment of the country’s foreign exchange that the government would like it to undertake

To stand for elections to be President you only need to inform only the Electoral Commission of your intentions. A independent candidates for Parliament and Presidency do not have to have offices in all areas of Ghana.

Politicians only select the towns and villages they can win to campaign and open offices.
You can not open an empty office like that of NPP National Head Office and expect to win an election.

This funny character of this woman Konadu tells Ghanaians that she does not respect the husband, and that is why she even wants to have her own party and be president in Ghana, a situation that would never materialised.

Having been in the areas of presidency with the husband as first lady, it seems she is not satisfied so she wants to mount the stage as a president of Ghana, a dream that will never never happen in Ghana because one thing Konadu forgets to know is that Ghanaians do not like her personality.

Generally speaking, the initial love people have for the Rawlingses was because of the charismatic stand of the husband who has also presently lost that due to his mishandling of Atta Mills who held him Rawlings in high esteem and not of Konadu. Momently if she thinks people will vote her for the presidency then she is deceiving herself. She should stop argueing with the EC about the offices to be opened. Madam politics Konadu must just open the offices. Period.

She thinks people running political parties are jokers. Konadu has to open the two-thirds of the EC required number of offices so that she can see how people spend monies and how people[voters] eat their monies and never vote for them.

Every wise and serious citizen of Ghana should ask Konadu to stop challenging the EC and just open the needed offices just as it is done by the wiseman, intelligent, and a uniting force in the Ghanaian political arena Ayariga who smartly jabbed Konadu over her foolish and stupid argumentative challenging of the EC.
