DR BAWUMIA ,THE ECONOMIC PROPHET, ON THE $250 MILLION NDC TOOK OUT OF THE $1BILLION EUROBOND FROM BOG AND DEPOSITED FOOLISHLY & NONSENSICALLY AT THE UNITED BANK OF AFRICA (UBA)--------READ BELOW------ Beyond the issue of legality, there is the issue of prudence in the management of Ghana’s resources. How do you go and borrow money for 10.75% (US dollar) and give it to someone to lend it to you at over 20% (GHC)? In effect you are paying over 30%! Assuming stable exchange rates, Ghana will be paying additional interest of at least $50 million a year on this transaction. It really is reckless. The government is claiming that the funds were “idle”. Really? What does that mean? Why do you borrow funds and pay interest on it if you do not have use for them at the moment? It is clear that the GIIF does not have a portfolio of projects ready to invest in and it is weird to allocate a whopping sum of $250 million to them at this time. Is the Minister aware that the country owes N-Gas some $100 million? What about other contractors who are owed money by the government? How can you owe so much, have so much to do and yet claim to have “idle” borrowed funds? The allocation of such an amount to a private bank also has major macroeconomic consequences for a relatively small economy like Ghana. It increases the deposits of the banking system and ultimately the money supply. It has inflationary and exchange rate depreciation consequences and would make it more difficult for the government to meet its inflation target. I am surprised that the government is oblivious of these consequences. The Funds should stay at the Bank of Ghana. After all the Bank of Ghana, on its own or through its external fund managers of the caliber of internationally reputable banks like UBS, JP Morgan, Citibank, Merrill Lynch etc. can undertake whatever investment of the country’s foreign exchange that the government would like it to undertake

Government went for a loan of 40 million dollars to procure 200 buses. So far they have done 116. You must find out why the remaining buses have not come in yet.” When the host of The Big Issue, Umaru Sanda Amadu probed further, the MP said he can provide the parliamentary report on his claims. “If you go on and begin to interrogate those buses, you will find out that the branding is chicken feed. I am saying that go and find out how come $40 million imports 200 buses, if work out the difference, [it will mean that] one Chinese bus comes up to a cost of 200,000 dollars. I think it is ridiculous,” he added.

I can understand her hurt as she had really toiled for the NDC and that is not in doubt. Where are the elders of the NDC? Dr. Obed Asamoah, Ato Ahwoi, Kojo Tsikata and all the elders shouldn't sit down for confusion to engulf NDC and NDP.

All possible means should be employed to bring Nana Konadu back to the NDC. That is where her soul and family belongs. If I were her, I would feel very lonely and sad, that my cherished NDC children have deserted me.
What sort of war and acrimony and hatred exist so much in the NDC and Nana Konadu that there can't be reconciliation? The elders of the NDC must show us a good example.

The party belongs to the NDC folks and the husband is seen as the founder by their constitution but the party does not belong to him. Nobody is greater than the party, u can decide to leave if u so wish. She has decided to form her party, and that is it. She can be zapped in the right way if she makes comments that are not true, that is democracy. Where from this curse issue too. If by your logic, she can curse the members of the NDC then she can equally be cursed. If u a mother and you abandoned your children because of disagreement between u and your children u decided to abandon them and go to have a love affair with another person and have children how can the curse of your mouth work. She should rather be praying hard against the curse of the NDC folks. Where were u when the ndc folks were protecting them during the era of kuffour. Do u remember the trials and reconciliation sittings, do u remember when her husband was accused of stealing " kose" in the northern region? Do u remember when their ridge house was surrounded by security forces, Do u remember the issue of the dinghy, Do u remember all the problems they went through during the era of the npp? In all these was it not the ndc folks who defended them? History is very important. Go get those facts and stop crying.
