Author:-Banda..... John Mahama has packed the Jubilee-Flagstaff House with tribalists, rapists, good-for-nothing staffers, fraudsters, liars, political nincompoops, thieves, and scoundrels, thus denying jobs to trained professionals. Information Services Department staff like several others in many departments are sitting in 'blackout' offices doing nothing, only to be paid with the tax payers monies at the end of the month. All John Mahama knows is to be called His Excellency, ride in State cars, and be saluted by foolish soldiers, policemen and women, judges and other so-called eminent/vvip people. He has destroyed our Economy, brought untold hardships to the people, bribed his way and stolen elections. Yet stupid Ghanaian 'gaping sycophants' look on and call him His Excellency. Primitive people!!!!!!

It's not about funding from govt that will solve the problem. Even when govt funds become available NDC will still cheat in elections. That's the only way they can remain in power.

It is not necessary to spend all these big amounts of money campaigning. If the parties present the truth to the public or the electorate, embarking on one-on-one, door-to-door campaigns during elections will not be needed. The media ( tv, radio, newspapers, Internet-Facebook, Twitter etc) can be used greatly instead to reach and present manifestos of the parties to the public. The advanced countries use media technology mostly during elections. One can make a decision just in the living room by watching tv. In Ghana, many people lose their lives when attending party rallies or campaigns. The parties waste a lot money acquiring party vehicles, buying fuel, boarding and lodging in hotels by a large number of party officials. Are all these big expenditures really necessary ?

Ghanaian polititians especially those in power re wicked towards the ones in opposition because they re obviously the alternative party if they re failing,a very good example is an mp who's party is not in power, the ruling party appointed DCE,s MMDCE,s in the same area who may ve beaten the any of them in an election but re appointed to head that electoral area and used to sabotage the efforts of the sitting mp.The winner take all kind of governance we practice here re the courses of all the corruptions in the country.incumbency comes with all the goodies, companies re more than willing to pay to them after a deal is reached,so it easy for them to raise money, same can not be said of an opposition party, this two major parties Npp,NDC ve all gone through this but re still unrepentant of this challenges.Ghan does not need a selfish leader at this stage, what we need is a president who ll dam all the odds and implement measures that ll set us on the right path even if that ll course them election,I think the Npp is the only party that has a candidate who can stand up to this challenges, president Mahama we all know is a very weak person when it comes to taking decisions,he said this in his own book.

I clap my hands for this guy. In Africa, we always hear from political parties of rigging when they lose in elections.

Good . Ghana needs to find a Political Parties funding formula and policy. In fact, a Constitutional Instrument must be developed on this to effect it.
It is laudable1 idea. see my next posting.

Effort must be made to fund serious and legitimate political parties that fulfill all EC and Constitutional Requirements like having manned offices in all constituencies, etc.
I will add that to prevent the pervasive corruption, and encourage broader participation in the political and electioneering process in Ghana, the EC (and parliament) must be made to reward the parties, at least some GHc1.00 or GHc2.00 for each of their Voters for casting their votes.
This should be based on the presidential Vote count.
This will provided some "Seed Money" for each political party for their year round activities such as campaigning, and day-to-day operation of party affairs.
The advantages of this funding formula could include:
1. Seed money for serious political parties to operate with.
2. Non-Dependence on "special" party funders and/or owners.
3. Lowered or diminished monetary influence on voters and corruption.
4. Encouragement of grass-root participation in the political process.
5. Individual and/or grass-root Claim & Ownership of the respective political party (with a feeling of belongingness, inclusiveness and some ownership).
