We should not help him fuel this fire. His father Ahmed Ramadan was PNC national Chairman but the PNC has never recorded a single vote in his polling station. This shows the Ramadans are nothing but political protitutes seeking to exploit the political tolerance of Ghanaians for their personal advantage. A Ghanaian could not do this in Mauritania.

It is the responsibility of government to implement that because NIA was formed by an act of parliament and we must make them functional.

  Even, the USA, UK and EU Passports are faked. Ghanaians give peace a chance. Yes Ede be K3k3! Nothing in this world cannot be faked. Nothing at all! To make anything fakeable full proof will cost 100 times the cost of producing the original. Simply be vigilant on the election day that boxes are not stolen and replaced. The indelible ink was made indelible for this purpose. Even some criminal minded individuals will like to wash it quickly and re-vote again. So they made the voting ONLY ONE DAY exercise. Even though a person has numerous Degrees, none is obtained with 100% mark, but a universal principle of good effort is applied in all cases 50% is considered Pass and in some cases even 45% is considered Pass. If billions are spent on the new List, then how tough and strong should the indelible INK BE?

  In as much as I will agree wit u on de issue of de National ID, I'm not sure u guys are in anyway trying to say dat until we get de National identification system, natin can be done abt de current voters register which everybody believes is pregnant wit flaws. I dare say dat dis ur argument is also preposterous. Yes we need national ID no doubt but b4 we get one, dat is if it can't be made ryt now, we must first ensure dat at least dis current register is made as credible as possible. This we can do by making sure dat foreigners hu got onto de register by using de NHIS cards are taking off. (Don't forget der's no contention on getting minors and dead pple from de register so we can say dat dat is been catered for at least)
  But don't u guys feel ashamed as Ghanaians to noe dat lots of foreigners are on our voter roll and are in fact able to choose who should rule us as a country.
  I thought ur group could ve de insight to tell de EC and de police dat, dey should make sure dat foreigners and minors who try to register are duly punished and not left unpunished as dey always do. I thought u could suggest dat Ghana govt and de EC could through diplomacy, talk to de leaders of de various neighbouring nations to also help ensure dat their nationals don't easily come here to register. Is de PPP telling us dat des and other such measures cannot be taken unless we get a national ID?
  If de PPP really means well, why are dey not calling for de prosecution of dos foreigners who admitted dey were non Ghanaians in de just ended limited registration.
  What de PPP should noe is dat, wen we don't start prosecuting offenders, even National ID will not help bcos des offenders will still hook onto de National ID itself knowing dat dey will not be punished even if dey are caught.

You however shot yourself in the foot when you refuse to accept that fact and turn to go the way of those who seek their own parochial interest. If we agree National Identification system is the way to go, we can implement it with the period left. Remember NIA has already done 80% if the job and need few budgetary allocation to complete the job. Ask why we are refusing to go get it done. It is because of those who are hungry for power, they know when it is implemented they cannot steal votes and have unqualified persons on the register. so they refuse to make the NIA workable and they go the way you are going trying to let everyone believe it is not feasible.

Even if we are to do a new voters register, is the EC going to do it alone? Party agents are always present but we always do a new one. I think we should take all the members on NPP & NDC to the psychiatric hospital for further examination. I can tell all ghanaians that only the poor citizens uses NHIS cards. If it's about passports, then I do support but for nhis, hmmmmm

  The PPP should realise that it is through the use of the NHIS cards for voter registration that we got a lot of foreigners onto the electoral roll. Ghanaians have forgotten that in an obvious grand scheme to rig the 2012 election the EC had an LI passed to allow NHIS cards for voter registration. The NHIS then quickly announced they were doing free registration for those who couldn't pay and the took their machines round supposed vulnerable areas to register voters with NHIS cards. I remember vividly a news item that reported the arrest of NHIS officials in Togolese territory registering people. So what are we talking about. There are millions of unqualified people on the voter roll period!

  A credible person, but in all honesty, I cannot say the same thing about your Flagbearer, Paa Kwesi Nduom, who some 8 years back, was in bed with the NPP, as the Minister in charge of Public Sector Reforms! What did he accomplish in that portfolio, other than use the insider information he acquired, to build a financial empire! Talk to ny of his employers, and they'll tell you that he is worst than a 'slave master'!
  His duplicity is legendary, as evidenced by his failed attempt to co-opt Akua Donkor!
  He has already given hints about an 'unholy alliance' he is willing to forge, once again, with the NPP! Let him come and explain to the good people of this nation, why he took huge sums of money from the State, and then, failed to thoroughly perform his part of the bargain!
  The guy, previously known as Paa Yorke, in his early days, is a consummate political chameleon, the like of which, this nation has not seen!

Ghana needs people like Dr. Nduom to move it forward and not people like yourself who want to use dubious means to fill your big pot bellies. When PPP is in office, like the way the British do, like the Americans and the other developed world has done, Ghana will see a change and you people will not have the opportunity to siphon Ghana's money again.

  Why nobody is telling this semi-educated politicians beats any well meaning Ghanaian's imagination. The NHIS Card is full identity required to receive Medical Care in Ghana. It is free to obtain but that does not mean it is a worthless piece of I.D. Sincerely speaking as a national I.D. it passes all tests. Weighed against the other proofs of I.Ds, it is difficult to see where for example, the Birth Certificate or Passport ranks higher than the NHIS Card as means of identification. Birth Certificates are now essential in the case of those born fairly recently and even then only now becomes essential because the new mushroom Preparatory Schools requires these for registration of children into their Schools. The vast majority of old timers without Birth Certificates only require one when faced with possibility of travelling outside. Simply put, the Birth Certificate is required to obtain a National Passport whereas the NHIS is an I.D on its own with photograph of the owner.
  Any old timer requiring a Birth Certificate simply walks to any Birth Registry with a name written on the back of a piece of paper i.e. the name the person wishes to be called (presumed to be his or her name). No Hospital Cards etc etc is required at all. Birth Certificate is issued in the name of Kofi Manu who has just been returned from UK for not having all information required when subjected to questioning at the Airport. Mr Adjei Boadi has now become Kofi Manu ready to go for another Passport again. This is what money can do but does not make it more legal than the NHIS Card. Since Adjei Boadi wishes no longer to be known as such, he is now Kofi Manu. However, for purposes of identification his bounced Passport, old Birth Certificates are still with him at home. This Ashanti man could soon become an Ewe now known as Godwin Amedume and now on his 10th Birth Certificate and Passport. All his I.Ds are at home and he could legally identify himself in any of his former names.
  What, therefore, makes the Birth Certificate and Passports more acceptable as forms of I.Ds at time of obtaining Voters I.D and or voting than the NHIS as Card for identification to obtain Voters I.D Card? With criminal minds, any document could be compromised and therefore there is the second provision at time of voting to stick the thumb in indelible violet ink which does not wipe off in a day.
  Ghana and her children are always crying against corrupt politicians but what are we now doing? Spending mother Ghana’s money for an exercise which has practically no merits of any description, i.e. expunging the names of voters who registered with the NHIS Cards. Not a single form of I.D in this world could not be compromised. The illustrious British, U.S.A, Germany etc Passports are being copied by entities within their dominions. And so what does Abu Ramadan actually hope to achieve by this wasteful venture of taking the E.C to task? How in reality did he get pass the Judiciary with this baseless and frivolous case? Is it because Judges normally are bourgeois hence could see errors in anything obtained cheaply or without cost? The most annoying aspect of this frivolous case was that he, Abu Ramadan’s own tiny Party has not got the enduring claim of being an elitist party and so it is hard to understand the motive behind his push and continuous push for this white elephant.
  When my name is removed because I registered with NHIS Card, I will then have to go and obtain a fake Birth Certificate in the same name? If I am a foreign national who could as well obtain a Ghanaian Birth Certificate, must I come with my parents to certify my nationality? If a person has passed the hurdle of obtaining the NHIS Card, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate and Passport, what real benefit will be there to go after one particular form of I.D. instead of all of the above – all of which could be obtained genuinely as well as fraudulently. These I.Ds are not in themselves “the all”. The indelible violet ink seals all things on the day of voting.

  in Most USA states you can register when you get your driving permit, Register at the EC. All the way up to 2 months before the election.. But you must provide valid id!
