…The Ghana Armed Forces has denied media reports that it has assigned men to protect President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

Media reports have suggested that soldiers have been detailed to guard the President’s brother after pictures of him in the company of soldiers while on a health walk emerged on social media.

But in a statement to clarify the matter, the Armed Forces Command condemned the act and assured that the necessary action is being taking to address the issue.

“The Military High command has taken a serious exception of the bad conduct in respect of soldiers who participated in a health walk and were alleged to have been providing close protection to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.

“The Military High Command wish to state that it has not assigned any soldier as body guard to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. The soldiers in question were assigned as part of the security detail at the flagstaff House,” the statement signed by Director Public Affairs Colonel Aggrey-Quashie noted…..

The chiefs and people of the Volta region should hold NDC and Mr. Incompetent responsible for taking them for a ride for far too long by rejecting them outright. Since 2009, NDC governments and Mahama's in particular received more money than any other government in the history of Ghana from high commodity prices including oil, and borrowed more money than any of them to land our nation in bankruptcy. The painful thing is that they can't even account for greater part of the 40 plus billion dollars infrastructure money borrowed, and Ghanaians too are suffering and wallowing in hunger. To be fair, NDC should be prevented from campaigning in the Volta region.

They were actively involved in opposing Kutu Acheampong, they supported Kufour but turned against him, they chose Nana Addo over their sons Kyerematen, Addo Kufour, Apraku and Addae Nimo. Blind tribalistic loyalty is a rewarded with disrespect and betrayal. If you become a World Bank or IMF, your members will only come to you on their knees for help when they are bankrupt. As soon as they are back on their feet the will abandon you for China, Turkey, Brazil. Ouch. It hurts.
