1. I will protect the public purse. We will provide vision and direction. 2. I ask you to be citizens, not spectators:; citizens, not subjects. 3. It is time to make sure that there is a true separation of powers in our arms of government. 4. I will not let you, the people of Ghana, down. 5. The change we have voted for has to start with each individual. I ask you to be responsible citizens. 6. It is time to define what being a Ghanaian ought to mean. Being a Ghanaian must mean you sign up to a definable code of conduct. 7. I shall protect the public purse by insisting on value for money in all transactions. 8. I see exciting times ahead, the rule of law will be the underlining tenet of our governance. 9. We should learn and accept that we do not own the land, but hold in trust for future generations. 10. State coffers are not the spoils for victorious political parties. I promise to protect the public purse. 11. People who claim to be the paragon of virtue only use those claims as a trick to let people see them differently from what he really is.

God has chosen to expose Nana Addo's empty claims to saintly honesty to the full glare of Ghanaians! Nana was disgraced in the largest Ghanaian function: a 7 January presidential swearing in.

If I were Nana I would shoot myself dead. But naturally dishonest persons like Nana ADDO have no shame so they shamelessly try to put up a brave face - and even try to find excuses and shift blames.

Shame to Nana a trillion times for plaigiarising!

Anyone who condones plagiarism is a most likely candidate to be corrupt. We have long overlooked and taken for granted massive acts of corruption because we think such is a routine, normal behavior we must endure. Nonsense!

What if the plagiarism had been avoided? Would you have had anything to call for sour grapes? The fact that people criticize mistakes that others do does not necessarily indicate 'sour grapes' or vengeance.

Mistakes and crimes must be called out. Period! So, anyone claiming to be a champion of perfection must not be the one to blatantly indulge in either.

Genuine mistakes are forgivable. But even so, they must called out first to be recognized.

Therefore, cut out your insipid, puerile charges and focus on contributing better ideas to restore the dignity of our Presidency and the integrity it needs to serve our Nation better with.

We should not accept mediocrity as a norm. We should not accept kleptocracy as a longstanding existential characteristic that must be left intact in our leadership roles. We should not continue with the idiotic idea of putting individuals on untouchable pedestals where they cannot be reprimanded or chastised or criticized constructively.

The days of condoning fraud and corruption must come to an end. And I don't see why it can't be now. It is morally reprehensible to kick the can down the road for our children and grandchildren to grapple with. It is our responsibility to uproot the canker, now.

Does it mean he could not write a speech of his own, rather than leave this important assignment to marauding band of impetuous youth masquerading as seasoned communicators?

I just feel uncomfortable, sad and embarrassed about the international media's attention on this plagiarism issue. CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, etc, etc. Can something be done about it?

Don't be sad. It is simply a wake up call for Ghanaians to take the issue of plagiarism serious. Some of the university professors could equally be guilty.

While plagiarism is a disgraceful act, and at times it is cause for disciplinary action, such as in academia. I believe The President is using these words to instill hope and determination in the people of Ghana. While the spirit of the message is key, it could have been rephrased. This is just pure laziness on the part of the speech writers, and The President can not be faulted for not vetting the speech.
