WHY NANA’s GOVERNMENT SIZE IS GOOD FOR GHANA
How can we appoint all Ghanaians as ministers of state. In that case who is going to supervise who. I don't know why some academicians will decide to talk like serial callers. I don't think even party foot soldiers at the local level will behave like this. Look in countries where there are lean governments you will realize that governance is closer to the people. For instance, in federal republics like Germany, USA, Nigeria,etc, you will realize that a governor of a state has legislatures and secretaries/commissioners (ministers) at the state level to help them perform their mandate. This is not so with a centralized system like Ghana - especially when we have a very weak and ineffective civil and public service system. So with great challenges at hand, what do you expect the NPP government to do when the previous NDC government has increased Ghana's debt stock by 250% in just 8years. We need the expertise of these appointees to help us create health in order to be able to honour our monstrous obligations when they fall due

With all due respect, Ghanaians voted for you because we really believed in you as a visionary leader. We were tired of the gross incompetence and bile we'd been fed for so long.
Your victory came as a much needed breath of fresh air. You're enjoying an outpouring of goodwill such as has not been seen in recent times.
Please, majority of Ghanaians are very unhappy with the size of your proposed government. There appears to be so much redundancy and overlap in roles. The associated cost is cause for worry for many a Ghanaian who are very aware of our precarious financial standing. It's too early for the dead goat syndrome to creep into your government.
The sages of old claim that the voice of the people is the voice of God. You can choose to listen to the masses and trim some fat off your budding government or choose to listen to the sychophantic echo chamber of your kitchen cabinet and pay the price for it down the line.
You have stated time and again that your desire is to leave a lasting legacy. I doubt that a fat and obese government that drains our scanty resources is part of what you intend to be your legacy. Let's fix this mistake now before it becomes a cancer.
No amount of linguistic gymnastics can adequately justify this. You asked us to be citizens and not spectators, if those words were true, please give meaning to them by your actions.

Well said.. but if you will take time to listen and absorb the essence of these competent men in these roles and the benefits the nation will derive, it calls for the direction the president has taken. the increase corruption in the public sector calls for controls to be put in place by incorruptible persons. Efficiency and effectiveness is the key. Cost has no essence if the overriding benefits is enormous. Ghana's economy is growing and calls for strict controls to be put in place to curb the leakages in the public sector.

What is efficiency? Cost is the major driving factor in efficiency.... Efficiency can be seen as optimum allocation of resources to produce goods and services in desired quality and quantities to satisfy the needs/wants of citizens.
If given same the same resources or inputs, one person is able to produce more output and/or at lower costs than another person, we say that person is efficient.
We need to cut costs as government.... (wasteful expenditure). I know our cadres are waiting for their appointments but do we necessarily have to create ministries for them? No!!!
However various avenues are there where they can be deployed. Let's not forget to make our party structures as lucrative as working in government. We still need a lot of administrators, policy think-tanks party level.
Otherwise four years to come, we may struggle alot

Every concept of efficiency has at its roots the principle of doing more with less, either at the same output or marginally higher output.At this rate, I am certain that you may not yourself know all the appointees too well, not to speak about managing their performance and their egos. Ultimately their expenses on government may lead to you have a diminishing return on your political resources. There is an optimal level of government and 110 is not that number, Mr. President.
