Jerry John Rawlings has stated that greed among some party members led to their loss in the 2016 general elections. He claimed corruption increased to insane levels under John Mahama and accused them of departing from the values of probity and accountability which formed the basis under which the party was formed. According to him, it was mainly because of the corruption that the NDC lost power to the governing New Patriotic Party.

All these put together outweighs the so-called development brought into the country. One thing about this group is that they cannot keep quiet about their dirty deeds. They want to blow their horn about their deed and when carefully analysed, they are found wanted.

When you left power in 2001, the debt/GDP ratio was above 130% and inflation was at 48% while bank interest rates were around 50%. Is that what you are touting? When you came back in 2009 all that you succeeded in doing is to drive the economy into the ground borrowing 120 billion cedis that we can't see the projects on which the money was invested. You left behind the bus branding, Woyome thievery and many other shenanigans. Say that to your teeming illiterate followers and not us.
