I agree with the professor. Too many perks for the fat cats (free car, free fuel, free diver, free housing, free garden boy, free houseboy, free cook, etc.). This is from the old colonial times and then some. The solution is to give all the fat cats, one fair salary and get rid of all the free stuff. If a minister wants a V8 car, he pays for it from his salary. If chooses to ride a bicycle or take trotro, that is his choice. savings from this concept will do magic for the country. We may not even have to go for any more loans due to all the savings from this strategy.

Look at the nonsense that is coming from electoral commission. We are waiting to see how the financial security agencies handle it. I know in the end the culprits will go home with their loot and the country will stand to loose.

I AGREE WITH YOU 100% AND THIS IS ONE MAJOR CAUSES OF LAZINESS AMONG THE TEEMING YOUTH WHO SHOULD BE ASPIRING TO GO THROUGH THE MILL OF LIFE TO SUCCESS RATHER SEE A SHORT CUT OPPORTUNITY IN POLITICS.

This country is sick to the marrow.

We just don't know what we are after.

Aimless & Visionless.

We rushed into independence and immediately forced the British to grant us a republican status.

Look at the various opportunities which have come our way for sixty solid years and we've blown everything away.

Our contemporaries who were in far more worse situation like south Korea have moved from a worse situation to the league of advanced nations.

Our British commonwealth contemporaries (i.e.Malaysia,Singapore,India etc etc) have joined the big league and it is forecast that in 20 years China and India will be the 1st and 2nd powers.

Ghana at Independence was well ahead of India, Vietnam, South Korea,Malaysia,Indonesia, Singapore.

Remember things from Britain got to Gold Coast before it got to Australia and New Zealand.

A ship from Britain to Gold Coast will take a month to get to the Gold Coast and roughly 3 months to go to Australia and then New Zealand.

We have all the advantages.

We were schooled by the British.
We spoke English which was an asset.

Our educational system was the same as the British.

Our schools prior to independence where first class i.e Achimota, Accra Academy, Mfantsipim where producing first class graduates.

The chinese were never colonised.
They were at a disadvantage, they never spoke English.

As a matter of fact when they decided to catch up with the rest of the world they sent their students to Britain and the US.

They didn't know a word in English.

The lectures were in English and so they have a Chinese English dictionary.

So they were learning English while schooling.

With determination what took western Europe 500 years to achieve. It has taken the Chinese just 50 years to acquire.

This is a country which is determined to be No. 1 and focused.

What do we have in Ghana is leaders who seek power instead of leading the country to prosperity they turn around to steal and loot whatever they see.

We have lotting Brigades.

Once they win power all they do is to appoint their friends and family members to occupy the juiciest positions and all they do is to run these entities down.

We are a perverse and wicked generation.

May the good Lord have mercy on this country and raise a new set of leaders who will be focused to bring succor to the afflicted and needy.

If you look at countries like Singapore with no mineral resources who started with us and are hihly developed as compared to us in Ghana with abundant mineral resources, it is a paradox of the first order. The blame goes to these so-called matimiho NPP greedy thieves who made governance difficult for Dr Nkrumah. Very selfish very nepotic, very arrogant, very corrupt to the bone marrow. They see themselves as the centre of wisdom even though they know next to nothing.

At the moment, Ghana is not truthfully practicing patriotic democracy (PD). Until we learn to that we are not going anywhere with our fledgling democracy where tribalism & corruption hold sway.
