The National Communications Officer of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi says the Electoral Commission’s decision to furnish all political parties with a new voters’ register in November prior to the December 7 polls will create confusion in the country.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the 8th November 2020 date is too close to the election day as a lot will have to be done by the parties involved before the General Elections.
"If indeed the register will be ready on 8th November 2020 it will create chaos in the country and we will run into challenges,” he said.
A question of when the new voters’ register will be ready was asked during an IPAC meeting held on Thursday.
NDC Vindicated?
Sammy Gyamfi who was speaking on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ further indicated that the NDC feel vindicated over their stance that there is no need to change the current register since it is credible.
