Activa International Insurance marks 5 years of its women insurance program, the “ActivLady program’’

Activa International Insurance Ghana celebrated five years since the introduction of its women's insurance program, the Activ’Lady Program.

As part of activities marking the 5th anniversary celebration, a durbar was held at Adum in Kumasi bringing together various market queen mothers, female entrepreneurs, representatives from various women’s groups, associations and corporate institutions. The event was also used to unveil the new brand ambassador for the program, Ms. Gloria Osei Sarfo aka Nana Ama of the Efiewura TV show.

The chairperson for the event Diana Adu-Danquah Esq, a Senior Associate at Asante-Krobea, Sekyere and Associates chambers, admonished women especially entrepreneurs to take advantage of this innovative initiative by Activa Insurance to protect themselves and their businesses to enable them to grow and expand.

The Deputy Managing Director of Activa Insurance, Mrs. Genevieve Tachie, encouraged women business owners to continue working hard as families depend on them.

“Empowering our female business owners with the right business support is imperative for Activa Insurance, as women form a key component of our customer base.”

She added that Activa Insurance would continue to innovate to provide relevant insurance policies for women through inclusive insurance solutions and innovative tailor-made products for all customers.

Head of the Activ’Lady Program, Ms. Belinda Ofori further explained the benefits of the Activ’Lady insurance packages which provide cover against fire, flood, burglary and accidents as well as embedded value additions. She added that Activ’Lady has afforded business women the support system which previously was not available”

The Activ’Lady Program was designed by Activa International Insurance Ghana in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) a wing of the World Bank in October 2019.

The first of its kind in Ghana, the program provides support for women entrepreneurs through well-structured business protection packages as well as social intervention initiatives in the area of women’s health and well-being. It also creates employment for young ladies through its Adviser career opportunities.

Since its introduction, over 100,000 women have benefited in diverse ways from the program.
