The Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, Paul Twum Barimah, has disclosed that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and the Vice President of Ghana, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will confidently win the 2024 general election based on the strategies currently being initiated and implemented by the party and his campaign team.

Speaking in an interview, Paul Twum Barimah said the declaration by the Vice President to implement a tax amnesty for both individuals and businesses when given the nod to lead the country as President 2025 has resonated well with the business community which has thus promised to vote for him.

The Vice President has indicated that the prevailing tax regime is structureless and lacks innovation, which makes it burdensome for individuals and businesses to comply with. According to him, there are many loopholes in the tax system that ought to be sealed hence the need for amnesty for all to start on a clean slate.

“In 2025, we are going to grant tax amnesty to all businesses and individuals and start afresh. We are going to start a new system – a flat tax system; we are going to wipe the slate clean for every individual and every business and Ghana is going to start a new tax system - a flat tax system as we have in Estonia ” he proclaimed.

Besides that, Paul Twum Barimah explained that the vice President’s strategy of neutralizing all the strongholds of the opposition national Democratic Congress, NDC while working hard to increase the votes of the NPP in these regions have started to yield good results.

He noted that the strategy of equal distribution of projects by the Vice president across the 16 regions has also resonated well with the people.

“Today wherever you go across the country, roads are being constructed. That is a good sign, farmers are being supported, schools are being built, and electronic tablets are being shared to students to improve their academic activities. Sports infrastructure are being built everywhere, health facilities, that’s agenda 111 projects are being constructed across the country and jobs are being created to employ the youth.

“These are the qualities that the people Ghana want to see in a leader like Dr Bawumia and he is delivering as such. So based on his performance, his is likely to win and win big”, he stated

According to Paul Twum Barimah, the skills of the vice president that leads to unifying all disgruntled members of the party and extending a hand to even the minority party members to join him is a great and a good omen for victory.
