Bowiri Youth for Development brightened Bowiri Amanfrom

The Bowiri Amanfrom chapter of the Bowiri Youth for Development Forum provided and installed street lights in the Amanfrom community through a self-help project.

The street lights project code-named, “Brighten Amanfrom” was executed on Friday the 12th and Saturday the 13th of January 2024.

Forty-five (45) VEMAC brand new lamps were installed. Eighteen (18) old and nonfunctioning lamps were refurbished and made to work alongside the new ones installed. The project which cost about GHS 25,000.00 was financed by the forum through individual contributions.

During a brief commissioning ceremony, the project committee chairman Alfred Boamah Attah on behalf of his committee members; Lovia Kotoh (Fin. Sec.), George Yaw Kumah (member), and Samuel Amoaku (Tech. Advisor) tasked the youth resident in the community to watch over the lamps and ensure they are not stolen.

He charged residents to report anybody seen tempering with them to the police or the assembly member. He was quick to add that, should any of the lamps fail to light at night, a report should be made to the assembly member or George Yaw Kumah. It is only these two personalities who can instruct an electrician to climb the light pole and check on the problem with the lamps.

Courage B. Konadu the convener of the Bowiri Youth for Development Forum and a Community Psychologist seized the opportunity to thank all those who contributed in cash and kind towards the project. He reiterated his call for all Bowiri Youth living everywhere to come together, and pool resources together to develop Bowiri.

He urged the endowed Bawuli to come out of their comfort zones /homes and join the forum to help themselves.

That is the only sure way Bowiri can see development, he added.
