CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE AND DEMOCRACY (CJD)

For Immediate release

FONKAR Is A Usless Enterprise.

We have learnt with exceptional outrage the irresponsible comment churned out by an equally reckless group calling itself Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR). The conduct of this unknown group which is being sponsored by faceless forces and individuals, to say the least, are very shameful and most inappropriate. The package of accusations lined up against His Excellency the President of Ghana, Atta Mills and his Vice, John Dramani Mahama are groundless, uncalled for and without merit. Such heinous castigations which are the last meal we desire to be served with can only be cooked up by such a nonentity called FONKAR which has lost touch with our political history and reality.

The CJD wishes to state that the activities of FONKAR are ill-motivated and with deliberate intentions to blemish the good reputation the present government has enjoyed from Ghanaians as a result of its hard work and commitment towards improving the lots of the people. It is clear that the actions of FONKAR have exposed their hidden agenda which is evidenced in the obvious nonsensical argument they struggle to advance and which subsequently exposes their ignorance about party politics. Without a shred of doubt FONKAR and all its appendages have proven to be a useless venture and Ghanaians must treat them with the most preposterous contempt.

The CJD is very appalled by the seemingly chronic attack syndrome that has inflicted a sense of mediocrity into our body politic. The very principles underpinning the activities of political parties, pressure groups but to name a few are been breached for individual sycophancy. The use of abusive words and unprintable language at our leaders must not be allowed to become fashionable lest they expose the ignorance of those practicing it, and in this case FONKAR.

The CJD is by this statement condemning the actions and activies of FONKAR and calling on Her Excellency the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to distant herself from the character assassination escapade of this useless enterprise that operates under the pretext of passion for her identity. We also wish to call for cooler heads to prevail for the sake of party unity and to keep the government more focused on developmental issues. It is our considered opinion that these daily disparaging remarks and machination against the President and his Vice will never engender orderliness in the party but will only deepen the skepticism and hostility within the rank and file. Political parties are public institutions and therefore we are worried about this unhealthy development.

It is our wish that all well meaning advocates of democracy will rally behind this government and extend to it the necessary support it needs to consolidate the very tenants of rule of law and social equity for a better Ghana.

God Bless Our Homeland Ghana!!

Spokesperson.
