Fido Supports Its Customers During Internet Outage: Since Thursday, March 14, Ghana has been grappling with significant disruptions in its internet connectivity due to undersea cable damages. These disruptions have had a widespread impact, affecting key sectors like telecom, finance, and healthcare.

Recognizing the challenges its customers faced accessing the app, the company took proactive steps to ensure continued support.

While their app remained fully operational, the company decided to upgrade its *998# shortcodes to support all financial services. This includes paying outstanding loans, borrowing eCash, topping up airtime, purchasing data bundles, and paying bills. Thus, providing a lifeline even when internet access is restricted.

“We are committed to supporting our customers every step of the way, especially during times of trouble,” said the company’s Chief Technical Officer, Guy Shaked”. In addition to the above measures, and response to increased demand, Fido beefed up its call center. “There are more staff available, and they've had extra training to help them assist our customers better” It's just another way Fido is showing its commitment towards its customer base, no matter what challenges come their way.
