Ghana Gas has lauded Firm Health Ghana Foundation for its exceptional role in delivering quality healthcare services to communities within the company’s operational areas.
Speaking at the second phase of the "Dine with the Aged" and medical outreach program, Mr Sarfo Hayford, Manager for Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), emphasized the Foundation’s professionalism and its impact on the lives of the elderly.
“This is the second phase of our collaboration with Firm Health Ghana Foundation, and we are impressed with the quality of services they are providing. Their commitment to addressing the health needs of our people, combined with their innovative approach of incorporating a feeding aspect, makes this partnership truly exceptional,” Mr. Hayford stated.
The event, which served over 400 elderly individuals from Anokyi, Atuabo, and Asemda, included health screenings, vital checks, and proper medical consultations.
Participants also enjoyed a festive meal, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. Mr. Hayford described the initiative as a blend of healthcare and celebration, saying, “It’s like having a party for our mothers and fathers while simultaneously addressing their health needs.”
He noted that Ghana Gas plans to deepen its partnership with Firm Health Ghana Foundation to extend similar initiatives to other communities, including Prestea and additional areas where the company operates.
"We see this as a long-term relationship. The impact of their work is clear, and we are committed to replicating this outreach in other locations,” Mr. Hayford added.
This collaboration aligns with Ghana Gas’ broader Corporate Social Responsibility agenda, which prioritizes health infrastructure and service delivery. Beyond such initiatives, the company is investing in CHPS compounds and constructing a 20-bed hospital at Ayinase to address the healthcare challenges in its catchment areas.
“We are grateful to Firm Health Foundation for their excellent work, and we look forward to achieving even greater milestones together,” Mr. Ford stated.
Beneficiaries from the three communities expressed their appreciation to Firm Health Ghana Foundation and Ghana Gas for the kind gesture.
They acknowledged that this health screening exercise has been beneficial to them in diverse ways.
"If not for this medical outreach, I would not have had money to go to the hospital for treatment, but look at me now, I have gotten medication for my sickness which is going to help me to be fit", one of the beneficiaries said.
Another one said, "after checking my system, they said there's nothing wrong with my system. I am very strong. And they did this for me for free and gave me food in addition, God bless them".
