Michael Mensah Ahorlu achieved joint third position in the world for the Strategic Level Case Study Exam, the final capstone exam of CIMA’s CGMA® Professional Qualification, bringing him one step closer to earning the CGMA designation, the most widely held management accounting designation in the world.

The CGMA designation was established in 2012 by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to recognize a unique group of accounting and finance professionals who have reached the highest benchmark of quality and competence.

It is built on extensive research to maintain the highest relevance with employers and help candidates develop the business, digital, people, and leadership skills, needed to build successful careers in accounting, business, and finance.

Michael Mensah Ahorlu, CGMA candidate and a Finance OfficerXX at Lifeforms LimtedXX, said: “The Strategic Level Case Study Exam for the CGMA professional qualification was thought-provoking as it challenged him to see himself as a business leader and think strategically, I really did not anticipate achieving this milestone and I am grateful to Mr. Kwasi Atuah, my wife Patience and my tuition provider for supporting me throughout my CGMA journey.

“I look forward to earning my CGMA designation and officially becoming a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), which I believe will give me the head start to progress to leadership positions in prominent companies both in Ghana and abroad.”

Paul Aninakwah, ACMA, CGMA, Country Director for Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, and Sierra Leone, at AICPA & CIMA, together as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, commented, “We are extremely proud of Michael for achieving joint third position for the Strategic Level Case Study Exam globally. It is a testament to his hard work and commitment to building a successful career.

“Michael is well on his way to earning his CGMA designation, which indicates that the finance and accounting professional has completed a rigorous and structured curriculum and is ready to tackle future business challenges.”
