The Deputy CEO of MASLOC and an aspiring NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Yendi, Hajia Abibata, has continued her yearly support to farmers with the distribution of over 600 bags of Urea, 1,200 NPK bags of fertilizer, 5,400 9kg bags of Certified planting maize seeds and 600 Napsack sprayers.
This kind gesture started years ago, but this year's support is an extraordinary one because Hajia Abibata earlier supported the farmers with MASLOC loans to enable them to expand their farms to increase production in order to meet market demands for more profits.
She urged the farmers to ensure proper use of the inputs and equipments to get good yield, thus harvest more to generate income for themselves and also to reduce the country's food import bill.
Hajia Abibata also admonished the farmers not to politicize the gesture and also called on them to guard against vote-buying in this electioneering season.
Alhaji Zakaria, campaign manager for Hajia Abibata added that "these are direct initiatives from Hajia Abibata to reduce abject poverty by helping the people enhance their economic activities which they were engaged in all these years”.
The beneficiaries said they were grateful to the Deputy CEO of MASLOC for her continuous strong support and promised to correctly use the inputs and equipments to achieve the intended purposes.
