Heritage Christian University College holds 5th Graduation Ceremony and 22nd Commissioning Ceremony of the Heritage Bible Institute
66 graduates received various degrees in Bachelor courses
Heritage Christian University College, Amasaman-Accra, has held its 5th graduation ceremony under the theme, "Securing Africa's Future: Creativity through Hands-on Entrepreneurship as a Vehicle." The university, accredited by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), formerly National Accreditation Board (NAB), and affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC) is a leading Christian institution that promotes excellence in knowledge and entrepreneurship.

In all, 66 graduates received various degrees in Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Theology.
The ceremony featured a thought-provoking address by the guest speaker, Bryan Brant, who eloquently drew lessons from Robert Frost's timeless poem, "The Road Less Travelled." The speaker emphasized the importance of choosing unconventional paths, taking risks, and embracing creativity as key elements in shaping a successful and impactful future.
Bryan Brant, captivated the audience with insights drawn from Frost's iconic work, encouraging the graduates to forge their own unique paths in the pursuit of knowledge, personal growth, and entrepreneurial success. The speaker highlighted the relevance of Frost's poem in the context of Africa's challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the importance of thinking outside the box to address pressing issues and contribute to the continent's development.
President of Heritage Christian University College, Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah expressed pride in the accomplishments of the graduating class and emphasized the university's commitment to nurturing leaders who are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the skills and mindset necessary to contribute meaningfully to the kingdom God and society.
The President announced the completion of a state-of-the-art Learning Commons to support students and faculty for academic excellence and research breakthroughs. He mentioned other infrastructure developments, including, the completed Centre for Entrepreneurship, Philanthropy and Ethics, an administration block annex among others. The President also announced the launch of a GHc2million Scholarship Endowment Fund to support brilliant but needy students of the university.
A key highlight at the ceremony was the award of GHc100,000 as start-up grant to Davic Farms, winners of this year’s Heritage Start-Up Challenge, to begin their poultry business. The business is owned by a student and a faculty member of Heritage-David Frimpong and Dr. Victoria Tsedzah. Since 2018, Heritage has sponsored 25 student-owned businesses with start-up grants of over GHc500,000. This is to give meaning to the entrepreneurship focus of the university. Also, three students sponsored by Heritage to compete in the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge in USA and emerged among the Top 8 Participating Teams were recognised for their achievement. They are: Rebecca Ocloo, David Bonyamya-Zimbo and Emmanuel Mensah.
On a separate occasion, Heritage Bible Institute also marked a double milestone with its graduation and 22nd commissioning ceremony. The theme for the occasion was "Shaping the Future of the Church: The Role of Bible Colleges," reflecting the institute's commitment to preparing individuals for impactful roles within the Churches of Christ in Ghana and beyond. The ceremony saw 29 graduates awarded with Certificates in Christian Ministry.
The keynote address was delivered by a missionary and former Principal of the Heritage Bible Institute, Dan McVey. He delved into the crucial role that Bible colleges play in molding the future of the church. The speaker emphasized the importance of a strong foundation built on Christ, urging graduates to carry forward the values instilled by Heritage Bible Institute as they step into leadership roles within their congregations.
Heritage Christian University College offers Master’s Degree programmes in MSc. Accounting and Finance, MSc. Accounting and Taxation and MSc. Human Resource Management. Undergraduate degrees are: Bachelor of Science (Information Security, Information Technology and Nursing; Bachelor of Business Administration (Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation, Accounting with Computing, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource, Business Information Technology Management); and Bachelor of Theology. It also offers professional courses such as ICAG, CIM, ICM, CHRM, ABE, CIB and Media Short Courses. The University is admitting students for January 2024.
