SIC Life Insurance Ltd. on Friday, 12th December 2025, held its End-of-Year Staff Durbar and National Sales Awards Ceremony at the SIC Life Mall rooftop, recognising outstanding performance, dedication, and loyalty across the organisation. The event was graced by the Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission (NIC), Dr. Abiba Zakaria.
The ceremony brought together the Board of Directors, management, staff, sales executives, and invited guests, providing an opportunity to review the year’s achievements and reaffirm the company’s transformation agenda.
A major highlight of the event was the National Sales Awards, including the Sika Plan Sales Awards, which recognised exceptional performance between January and November 2025. Awards were presented for premium income production, new business efficiency, and premium growth.
Three sales representatives were recognised for premium income production, while Michael Ayum Batsa of the Tema Office emerged as the Best Performing Sales Representative in New Business Production. Nineteen sales representatives from various branch offices were also awarded for premium production.
At the office level, Tema Office won Best Performing Office in New Business Efficiency, while Kumasi Adum Office emerged as Best Performing Office in Premium Growth. Additionally, William Ebo Mbrah Wilson was honoured as Best Sales Manager of the Year.
As part of the broader National Sales Awards, sixteen sales executives were awarded for premium growth, ten for new business premium growth, and twelve received special awards for outstanding performance in products including Education Plan Plus, Final Journey Plan Plus, Ultimate Famsec, Loan Protector, and Group Business. The award for Highest Premium Mobilisation (Core Life) was won by Hon. Yakubu Issifu.
The ceremony also recognised staff loyalty through Long Service Awards, Merit Awards, and honoured three retirees for their dedicated service. In total, 41 permanent staff, 8 Core Life contract staff, and 19 Sika Plan staff were recognised for long service spanning 10 to 40 years.
In her address, Dr Abiba Zakaria, Commissioner of the NIC, commended SIC Life for promoting a culture of performance, accountability, and staff recognition. She highlighted that such initiatives are critical to building a strong and sustainable insurance industry.
She encouraged SIC Life to continue investing in innovation, digitalisation, and human capital development while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards.
Dr Zakaria further urged staff and sales executives to act as ambassadors of the insurance industry, noting that professionalism, transparency, and customer trust remain essential to improving insurance penetration and public confidence in the sector.
Peter Lanchene Toobu, Board Chairman of SIC Life, described the durbar as a “celebration of our resilience, achievements, and collective efforts that have brought us to this point.”
He noted that the event provided an opportunity to “assess where we are and where we are going as a team with purpose.”
He acknowledged that while the era presents exciting opportunities, it also poses challenges, emphasising that the government’s reset agenda calls for measurable results.
“We have the people and the capacity. What remains is the collective commitment to move the company forward,” he added.
The Managing Director, Ing. Solomon Twum Barima Esq., encouraged staff to fully embrace change, innovation, and a performance-driven mindset, stressing that transformation is necessary to secure the company’s long-term competitiveness.
He called for collective effort as SIC Life moves into 2026 under the theme: “Transform and Innovate for Growth.”
The ceremony concluded on a festive note with music, dance, and merry-making, as staff and guests celebrated the season and the company’s achievements.
