The Spine and Nerve Center, Ghana was established by Dr. Craig Slapinski. The Center, located in East Legon, Accra, opened its doors two years ago.

Dr. Slapinski earned his doctorate in chiropractic medicine from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2007. He started working as a chiropractor in Ghana after graduating, treating patients with spinal disorders.

He moved back to Wisconsin after marrying a Ghanaian, where he started a non-surgical spinal decompression practice to treat people with disc-related neck and back pain.

He and his wife decided it was time to come back to Ghana in 2020 to help those suffering from excruciating neck and back pain by bringing his expertise and equipment.

Dr. Craig Slapinski has previously worked at the Spinal Rehabilitation Center in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, USA. He is nationally certified in non-surgical spinal decompression by Parker University in Dallas, Texas, and the National Health University in Chicago, Illinois.

He has advanced training in disc disorders from the International Medical Advisory Board on spinal decompression and is also a member of the Disc Education Association of America. He is certified in the KDT decompression technique and has over 15 years of experience in non-surgical spinal decompression.

He said, “ I am very thrilled to offer this non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical approach to not only assist those who are experiencing pain but also to truly address the issue that is producing the discomfort.”

According to an official of the center, since opening two years ago, the center has successfully treated over 1000 patients, with a 90% success rate. Patients from all around Ghana, Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Nigeria, and Uganda, have been treated at the center.

He said that patients come in mostly in pain, occasionally have trouble walking, and to a significant extent have tried everything else, including painkillers, epidural injections, and even surgery, and have been able to leave with smiles on their faces.
