Stanbic Bank Ghana and Wish4Life Foundation LBG, a subsidiary of Wish4Life Foundation in the United States of America have launched a campaign dubbed ‘Voices for Life Campaign’ in Accra.

The campaign hopes to raise funds for the construction of an International Children’s Cancer Research Centre (ICCRC) in Kyebi in the Eastern Region of Ghana estimated to cost USD 250M.

Richard Asare, Head of Public Sector Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting national growth through such initiatives. He said, “At Stanbic, we always say Africa is our home and we drive her growth and as Ghana is our home, it is our responsibility to drive her growth.

We are, therefore, excited to be part of the launch of the ‘Voices for Life Campaign’ to provide access to proper healthcare for our future leaders who are in dire need of medical attention. This campaign will help raise funds to directly tackle childhood cancer in Ghana and save the lives of young children.

As a bank, we are supporting them the best way we know how to and that is by providing top-notch banking services to support the fundraising for this project. We are strategically assisting the foundation to mobilize the funds and help them to efficiently use the money generated to execute the project.”

He added “We have also created a platform that will help collect the funds raised securely and safely, easily accessible and simple to use through mobile money and online banking. We will continue to extend our banking services even after the completion of the project just to ensure that they continue to have a seamless banking experience. I encourage everyone to join this campaign because it is a wonderful initiative.”

Dr. Tanya Maria Trippet, President of the Wish4Life Foundation and a Board-Certified Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, thanked the bank for their support. She said “Stanbic Bank has been an excellent partner since the inception of this project here in Ghana. We are grateful to them for the excellent banking service they have offered and their assistance in ensuring that the donors have an easy safe and secure mode of transferring money in support of this project.”

She continued “In this part of the world, access to proper health facilities is a big challenge and only a few can afford to travel to receive medical attention. We are launching the ‘Voices of Change Campaign’ to raise funds to combat childhood cancer in Ghana, especially in the rural areas that do not have access to proper healthcare. Let us all come together and save the lives of our precious children.”

WISH4LIFE Foundation LBG, a subsidiary of the WISH4LIFE Foundation in the United States, is deeply committed to eradicating healthcare disparities in the treatment of children with cancer in Africa.

In September this year, Stanbic Bank joined the WISH4LIFE Foundation team, at the sod cutting for the construction of an International Children’s Cancer Research Centre (ICCRC) in Kyebi in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Upon its completion in 2026, the center will be the first Children’s Cancer Centre of its kind in Africa.

It will be fully equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, positioning it at par with renowned cancer centers in Europe and the United States. The total estimated cost of the project is USD 250,000,000.
