The Risk Department of Stanbic Bank Ghana has provided support to the Graceland Needy Childcare Shelter at Bawjiase in the Central Region.

The team donated 20 new desks to aid students in their academic pursuits, and other essential items including stationery, cleaning equipment, footwear, and groceries. The team also made a cash donation to further support the maintenance of the facility.

Leading the delegation from the bank, Felicity Osafo Sampong, Chief Risk Officer, Stanbic Bank Ghana presented the items and pledged continuous support to the development of the orphanage.

“We are proud to be affiliated with a bank that believes that Ghana is our home and we drive her growth. Today our journey from Accra to Bawjiase is just to put smiles on the faces of these wonderful youngsters and contribute positively to their development. As a department, we have pledged our support to the development of this Orphanage for 3 years.”

“Work has begun on the construction of an ultra-modern kitchen to prepare good meals for these children. As time goes on, we hope to transform the common area and fix the roof as well. We seek to ensure that we provide the children of this facility with a more comfortable lifestyle to study and grow into responsible members of the community.”

Madam Grace Wobell, the founder of Graceland Needy Childcare Shelter commended the team for their generosity and for giving the children a reason to smile.

“The Risk Team from Stanbic Bank has answered our prayers. They have come to show love to us. They are a good example of generosity for these children. The current economic crises have hit us very hard making conditions difficult, but this donation would go a long way to ease our financial burden so we can take better care of these wonderful children. God bless you all.”

Currently, with two completed dormitories and three yet-to-be habitable, Graceland Needy Childcare Shelter houses about one hundred (100) kids ranging between the ages of 1 and 17 years. It has a staff strength of ten: five teaching and five non-teaching staff.
