The transformative efforts of the Visionary Norman Foundation have created a ripple effect of positive change and empowerment among countless adolescents in the Lambussie District.

On the auspicious occasion of July 7th, 2023, a diverse group of esteemed individuals and community members gathered to witness the Foundation's impactful initiatives in Suke, Samoa, Dindee, Chum, and other communities within the district.

Graced by the presence of esteemed personalities including Dr. Damien Punguyire, Regional Director of Health Service, Upper West; Dr. Sussie Anku, Medical Doctor and Reproductive & Adolescent Counsellor; Mr. Bin-eranaa Jerdu Nuhu, Ag. Lambussie District Director of Health Services; and Dr. Abena Yeboah, Ayawaso East Municipal Director of Health Services and Director of the Visionary Norman Foundation, the event was a collaborative effort aimed at providing reproductive health education, essential screenings, and access to contraceptive services for adolescents in these communities.

The Regional Director of Health Service, Dr. Damien Punguyire, expressed his unwavering support for the comprehensive plan to address the issue of teenage pregnancy. This collective endeavor aims to curb the alarming surge in teenage pregnancies and early marriages that have impeded the educational opportunities and future prospects of adolescent girls.

As part of this effort, Lambussie District will also introduce fines for men responsible for teenage pregnancies, as witnessed in other villages, to hold them accountable and deter such occurrences.

Dr. Abena Yeboah, Municipal Director of Health Service (Ayawaso East) and Director of the Visionary Norman Foundation conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chiefs, District Health Directorate of Lambussie, GES Director, and the community for their unwavering support and warm reception.

Driven by a passion to combat teenage pregnancy, the Visionary Norman Foundation, a registered non-profit organization, seeks to empower and uplift individuals and communities through the provision of support, resources, and opportunities.

Their vision is to create a society where everyone has access to essential needs, education, healthcare, and equal opportunities for growth and development, while their motto is "Empowering youth, transforming communities."

In a warm welcome address, the Chief of Suke, Kworo Sakura Tigro Samoa, expressed his appreciation for the Foundation's presence and its commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the youth in Lambussie.

He acknowledged the detrimental impact of teenage pregnancy on the future of young girls in the district, including the high dropout rates from schools. The Chief commended the Foundation for its dedication to assisting these young girls in overcoming these challenges.

The GES Director, speaking on behalf of the absent Education Director, acknowledged the grave threat that teenage pregnancy poses to the future of teenage girls in the district. He commended the Foundation for its commitment and expressed gratitude for its efforts in addressing this pressing issue.

The Foundation's intervention provides a glimmer of hope for adolescent girls who would otherwise be burdened with early parenthood and deprived of the joys of childhood and adolescence.

The event also featured a heartfelt poem recitation by a teenager from one of the local schools, emphasizing the value, potential, and strength of girls. The poem called for an end to the exploitation of their worth, advocating for freedom, education, and the elimination of inappropriate advances and objectification based on physical attributes.

Dr. Sussie Anku, in her address, shed light on the prevalence of teenage pregnancy in the district and its wide-ranging effects on the girl child, the community, and the nation at large. She urged parents, chiefs, and all stakeholders present to join the campaign against early child marriage and the elopement of female teenagers, highlighting the need for collective involvement to combat this menace.

The Visionary Norman Foundation's outreach in the Lambussie District has ignited a beacon of hope for countless adolescents. By providing comprehensive reproductive health education, essential screenings, and access to contraceptive services, the Foundation's transformative efforts are nurturing a future where young girls can flourish without the burden of early parenthood.
