WORKSHOP ON NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT POLICY FRAMEWORK DOCUMENT

In connection with the preparation of a National Development Policy Framework document by the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), the Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC is hosting a workshop to solicit views from Ghanaians in the US in the development of a more broad-based economic vision for the country.

The workshop, which takes place at the Embassy on Saturday, August 10, 2002 from 10am to 2pm is themed “ From Poverty Reduction to Wealth Creation: Building Consensus on a Vision for Ghana”

The soliciting of views will form the basis of the policy framework, which according to Ghana’s constitution, the President, J. A. Kufuor has to present to Parliament at the end of his second year in office.

Present at the workshop would be representatives from the National Development Planning Commission including the Minister of Regional Planning and Development, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom who will brief Ghanaians on the poverty reduction strategy and government’s medium term (2002-2004) priorities.
