Women in Leadership International (WILI) proudly commemorates ten years of empowering women, strengthening communities, and advancing a shared vision of leadership through service.
Our 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner, held on September 19, 2026, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, marked a significant milestone in our journey. Under the theme "Our Voices, Our Impact, Our Future," the celebration brought together members, distinguished guests, partners and friends of WILI to reflect on our achievements, recognise exceptional service and renew our commitment to the years ahead.
Since our establishment, WILI has been guided by a simple but powerful conviction: when women are empowered, families grow stronger, communities thrive and society benefits.
Over the past decade, this conviction has inspired our work in education, healthcare, mentorship, women's empowerment and support for vulnerable groups. Through the dedication of our members and the generosity of our partners, we have extended assistance to women at the Nsawam Women's Prison, girls in institutional care at Osu, boys at a Borstal institution and children in residential care, among others.
These interventions, including support for approximately 80 women at Nsawam and 50 girls at Osu, represent more than numbers. They reflect our determination to reach people who are too often overlooked and to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Our journey has also been strengthened by partnerships and collaborations with institutions and organisations, including the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Nanayaa Owusu-Prempeh Foundation. We recognise the importance of these relationships in extending our reach and sustaining our impact.
The anniversary celebration was also an opportunity to honour outstanding members whose dedication, sacrifice and commitment have contributed significantly to WILI's growth. Their service reminds us that the strength of our organisation lies not only in its leadership but in the collective efforts of women who consistently give their time, resources and expertise to support others.
As we celebrate this important milestone, we also extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs Mary Brown, our incoming Country Director. Her appointment marks an important chapter in WILI's leadership journey as we enter our second decade of service and impact. We look forward to working
with her to strengthen our network, deepen our partnerships, and advance our shared commitment to empowering women and transforming communities.
We also acknowledge with appreciation the contributions of our outgoing leadership and all past and present executives whose dedication has helped shape WILI into the organisation it is today.
We recognise the vision and leadership of our Founder and President-General, Rev. Dr. Nanayaa Owusu-Prempeh, whose commitment to women's advancement continues to shape WILI's mission. We equally appreciate our country directors, members and supporters who have helped build and sustain this organisation over the years.
As we enter our second decade, we recognise that much remains to be done. The challenges confronting women and girls, including human trafficking, teenage pregnancy, limited economic opportunities and barriers to education, require sustained attention and collective action.
WILI is therefore committed to strengthening its advocacy, expanding community interventions, building strategic partnerships and creating more opportunities for women to lead, mentor and support one another.
Our anniversary theme, "Our Voices, Our Impact, Our Future," is more than a celebration of our history. It is a declaration of our responsibility to use our voices purposefully, deepen our impact and help shape a future in which women and girls have greater opportunities to realise their potential.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been part of our ten-year journey: our members, partners, sponsors, volunteers, beneficiaries and the many individuals and institutions who have believed in our mission.
As we celebrate this milestone, we do so with pride in what we have accomplished, humility about the work that lies ahead and renewed determination to continue making a difference.
Ten years on, our commitment remains unchanged: changing lives, one person at a time.
