Gift Africa to host free leadership, personal development training for educators in Accra

The Ubuntu Equip Coaching programme offers practical tools to help teachers build confidence, financial literacy, and life skills in young learners, which would assist these learners in focusing on their personal abilities and development which in turn is a vital step in the right direction for their life journey.

Preparing young people for the future requires more than academic training. It takes consistent mentorship, character building, practical life skills and some regulated form of exposure.

To support teachers in this vital role, Gift Africa (a local non-profit organization) will host a free Ubuntu Equip Coaching Train-the-Trainer Session on Friday, 30 October 2026, at the Accra Technical University.

Centered around the theme "Leadership and Personal Development: A Tool for National Transformation," the day will begin with an Opening Forum, bringing together education leaders, policymakers, partners, and development advocates before transitioning into the hands-on educators' training session. This opening session will serve as a strategic platform to explore how character building, financial literacy, emotional wellbeing, and mentorship among educators directly accelerate youth development and national growth.

The full-day workshop, running from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will equip teachers with practical and ready-to-use tools in personal development, financial literacy, leadership, mental wellbeing, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking. Secondary and tertiary educators will also explore career mapping and social communication strategies.

First launched in 2024 under the name Soccer for Dreamers, the Ubuntu Equip Coaching initiative has successfully already trained over 200 educators across Ghana, reaching thousands of students in turn with the hope of reaching more educators and students, respectively.
