König Sprachschule becomes first institution to introduce ÖSD Examinations in Ghana after 65 years

König Sprachschule has become the first institution to introduce ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch) examinations in Ghana, breaking the 65-year period during which the Goethe-Institut was the country's only German-language examination centre.

Ghanaian professional and Founder and CEO of König Sprachschule, Benedicta Eyram Dedjoe-Djokotoe, said the school successfully organised its maiden ÖSD examination session from October 5 to 9, 2026, across levels A1 to B2.

Its second ÖSD examination session is scheduled for December 14 to 18, 2026, with registrations open from A1 to C1.

The maiden session was marked by high-profile visits, including the Ambassador of Austria to Ghana, as well as delegates from the German Embassy in Ghana, who visited the institution to learn more about its activities and contribution to German-language education.

The visit also served as a confirmation that ÖSD certificates are recognised by all the German speaking Embassies and countries as an official proof of German proficiency.

As a licensed ÖSD examination centre in Ghana, König Sprachschule offers internationally recognised German-language certification and provides professional German-language tuition from A1 to C1, preparing students for academic, professional and everyday communication.

Beyond language training, the school also runs a free cultural exchange programme known as Au Pair for eligible females aged 18 to 26 years, free of charge, for students who hold an A2 certificate. The programme provides a unique opportunity to experience German culture while improving language skills.

The institution further supports individuals seeking legitimate opportunities to study, work and undertake vocational training (Ausbildung) in Germany, providing guidance on various pathways, including university admissions, student visas, Ausbildung, Au Pair programmes and employment opportunities.
