Some vehicles had their screens broken and parts visibly mangled
A 30-minute rainstorm has caused havoc at Somanya in the Eastern Region.
The rainstorm began Monday around 3:00 pm with no warning signs and lasted for about 30 minutes.
A tree fell on the Somanya-Kpong Highway, making the road inaccessible hence heavy vehicular traffic for hours.
A storey-building housing the Barclays Bank and other offices had its roof ripped off.
Vehicles belonging to staff of the Bank parked close to the building were badly affected.
The vehicles had their screens broken and parts visibly mangled.
Some residents were also displaced as a result of the rainstorm.
Efforts were made by officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly to get the tree off the road and give some support to affected victims.
No casualty has been officially recorded.
