Adama Latse endorsed as Ga Mantse

Nii Adama Latse II has been endorsed by the National House of Chiefs as the Ga Mantse (Paramount Chief of the Ga State).

The endorsement is contained in a correspondence from the National House of Chiefs and signed by A.E. Essien, Ag Registrar, National House of Chiefs, dated 9Th April, 2018.

The letter reads in part, “The person whose name is in the National Register of Chiefs as Ga Mantse (Paramount Chief of Ga) is King Tackie Adama Latse II (George Tackie Abia). His name is approved by the National House of Chiefs and recorded in the National Register of Chiefs on 24th April, 2015.”

A copy of the correspondence has been sent to the President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Dodowa; the Greater Accra Regional Minister; the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, State House, Accra; the Members of the Council of State, Greater Accra Region and the Regional Commander of Ghana Police Service, Accra.

Following the development, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI has written to Nii Dodoo Nsaki I, Acting President of the Ga Traditional Council – a portion of which correspondence reads, “Per the response of the National House of Chiefs, the person whose name is in the National Register of Chiefs as Ga Mantse (Paramount Chief of Ga) is King Tackie Adama Latse II (George Tackie Abia), a copy of extract attached.”

The correspondence continued, “The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs is by this letter informing you of the registration of King Tackie Tawiah II as the Ga Mantse and also to formally inform you that you cease to be the Acting President of the Ga Traditional Council since there is now a substantive President of the Ga Traditional Council, in the person of King Tackie Adama Latse II.

“Be informed also that the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs will not deal with you in the capacity as the Acting President of the Ga Traditional Council, henceforth.”
