Nana Odiasempa Antwi Obugyei speaking during the visit by Asiedu Nketiah
The Kontihene of Ejura, Nana Odiasempa Antwi Obugyei, has praised Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for his role in reshaping the town's infrastructure.
During a ceremony at the chief's palace, the Kontihene highlighted several projects, including school buses, roads, a CIP compound, and clean water initiatives, that have improved Ejura's development.
The Kontihene expressed gratitude for Asiedu Nketiah's "unwavering commitment" to Ejura's growth, citing the provision of a 50-seat bus for Ejura Senior High School, which previously lacked transportation, and clean water projects for outlying communities.
He noted that these projects demonstrate Asiedu Nketiah's dedication to the town's development.
Asiedu Nketiah, on a nationwide "Thank-You Tour", reiterated the NDC's development-first philosophy, emphasizing that progress knows no partisan boundaries.
He thanked supporters and highlighted the party's efforts to bring tangible benefits to historically opposition-leaning constituencies.
The NDC aims to replicate Ejura's development model in other Ashanti towns, traditionally a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The party's spokesperson, Nana Yaa Owusu, stated that Ejura shows what can be achieved when political will meets community partnership, adding that the NDC will leverage committed leaders like Asiedu Nketiah and community goodwill to drive development.
