Asokore-Mampong MCE reaffirms commitment to ensure accountability

Ben Abdullah Alhassan, Asokore-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has reiterated the assembly’s unwavering determination to address all instances of financial leakages.‎‎

He said the assembly was also committed to promoting accountability in the collection and utilization of public finances in the municipality.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Alhassan pointed out that, the assembly’s resolve to combat financial leakages had been demonstrated in the recent arrest of two staff members of the assembly for alleged misappropriation of public funds.

He said the assembly would not tolerate any individual who exploited taxpayer money for personal gain.‎

He further encouraged residents to pay their taxes and levies promptly, asserting that the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) was pivotal for financing developmental projects in Asokore-Mampong.

The MCE noted that some initiatives were already in progress to fortify the healthcare system and enhance service delivery within the area.‎

He mentioned some of the ongoing projects, as the construction of classrooms, roads, drainage systems, health facilities, and several Astroturf parks.‎

The MCE said the construction of many Astroturf parks was to foster youth development and promote sports in the communities.

He also commended GNA for maintaining high standards in its reportage on issues in the municipality and urged other media outlets to persist in their support of accountability and development within the municipality.‎
