Sunyani Feb 11, GNA - The Brong Ahafo Regional branch of Ghana Journalists Association has condemned the brutal killing of Mr. Samuel Enin, News Editor of Kumasi-based Ash FM radio station and called on the police to thoroughly investigate the incident to bring the perpetrators of "the heinous act" to book.
Mr. Enin, Chairman of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Association was reportedly shot dead by unidentified assailants as he sat with friends at a drinking bar near his office in Kumasi last Thursday.
In a statement, the Brong Ahafo regional branch described the late Enin as a fearless journalist who did not compromise on principles and expressed the hope that "his killing was a mere accident and not politically motivated as being rumoured".
It urged the security agencies, particularly the police, to work hard to unravel the motive behind the "cowardly act" and to ensure that Ghanaians continued to enjoy absolute peace and freedom in going about their daily activities.
