Tamale, Jan. 26, GNA- Mr Daniel Bugri Naabu, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to the members who are contesting the various positions within the party not to regard other contestants as enemies.
He said the NPP was a united party, which believed in democracy and as such, whatever happened within its ranks should be seen as "a family affair".
Mr Naabu said this when he launched his campaign for the Northern Regional chairmanship of the NPP in Tamale on Saturday. He is contesting against Alhaji Abdulramani Salifu, (COP), the incumbent Regional Chairman.
Mr Naabu who stood against Alhaji Salifu in 1992 and lost by only four votes, promised to provide logistics and structures for all the constituency and ward offices of the party if elected. He said he would ensure that the NPP won all the 23 parliamentary seats in the region in the general election.
"If I stand against COP and lose I will continue to remain in the party and work hand in hand with him for the development of the Northern Region".
Mr Naabu was optimistic that the NPP would win the December general election in spite of the vile political propaganda by the party's opponents, especially in the Northern Region.
