Aflao, May 3, GNA - A Benz Bus, said to be speeding, on Saturday night, crashed into a Tailoring Workshop at Aflao killing a pedestrian and a tailoring apprentice on the spot.

The deceased are Cephas Senyo, 23, the apprentice and Dzidzor Ahiable 22, the pedestrian.

Three other apprentice tailors, Emmanuel Adjorlolo, Lucky Banya and Cletus Ashiagbor, Police sources said, were in stable condition at the Aflao District and Central Aflao hospitals.

The Aflao Police gave the name of the driver who is on the run as Morris Suribo, a spare on the vehicle.

They said contacts with the original driver of the bus in Accra indicated that, Suribo was put in charge of the bus to shuttle between Accra and Madina for the day, but clandestinely loaded passengers to Aflao and was speeding back to Accra when the accident happened. An eye witness account corroborated by the Police said the empty bus, speeding from the border area veered out of its lane into the flanks of the road near the usually busy Aflao Circuit Court building area, hit and killed Ahiable who was in the company of friends.

The bus, the witness said, then crashed into the building housing a number of shops, including the tailoring shop, resulting in Senyo's death.

The Police said they were making efforts to trace Suribo, who is said to hail from Aflao. 03 May. 04
