The people of Frankadua, a community in the Asuogyman District, have appealed to the government to urgently come to their aid by providing toilet facilities and potable water for them.

Mr K. Amenorhu, an Opinion leader in Frankadua, made the appeal on behalf of the community when the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, visited the area, as part of his tour of the Asuogyaman District.

He said the whole community with a population of over 2000 has only one public toilet, which is in a deplorable state.

Mr Amenorhu also said the community had six functional boreholes but the water is unwholesome, salty and brownish in colour.

He said they harvest rain water to drink and use for other domestic purposes but the prevailing dry season had compounded their problems.

Mr Amenorhu also appealed for the completion of the new school block for the Frankadua District Assembly, which had stalled for sometime now.

“We believe the government is a listening one, and that, it has the people of Frankadua at heart; we know our requests would soon be granted,” he said.

The Regional Minister assured them of government’s support and impressed upon them to continue trusting the President for their development.

He tasked the District Assembly to address the request of the community and make life better for them.

Mr Ampem Nyarko, the District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman, assured that, he was immediately going to liaise with his technocrats to meet the needs of the community as soon as possible.
