Daniel Kankam has put himself forward for the role
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Twumasi Kankam, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Communication Director of the Party in the New Juaben North Constituency in the Eastern Region, subject to the opening of nominations as part of the Party’s post–presidential primaries restructuring process.
In a formal declaration issued to party members and supporters, Kankam stated that his decision to contest is driven by a deep sense of loyalty to the Party’s traditions and a commitment to strengthening its communication architecture at a critical period in the NPP’s political journey.
According to him, effective, disciplined, and strategic communication is central to rebuilding trust among party supporters, energising the grassroots, defending the Party’s record in government, and positioning the NPP for success in the 2028 general elections.
“My decision to offer myself for service at this critical moment is rooted in my lifelong commitment to democratic principles, grassroots empowerment, party cohesion, and effective political communication,” he noted.
Kankam highlighted his years of service to the Party across Ghana, within the Eastern Region, and particularly in the New Juaben North Constituency, stating that his work has consistently been guided by the NPP’s core values of development in freedom, respect for human dignity, and the rule of law.
Professional Background and Preparedness
He further underscored his professional background in communication systems, governance, disaster and crisis management, as well as his academic training, which includes an Executive Master of Arts in Conflict, Peace and Security.
He explained that these experiences have equipped him with the skills required to manage political communication, shape narratives responsibly, and respond effectively to misinformation and internal challenges.
The aspirant emphasised his familiarity with the constitutional duties of a Constituency Communication Director, noting that the role involves propagating and explaining party policies, coordinating constituency-level communication strategies, defending the Party’s image, and mobilising the grassroots through consistent and accurate messaging.
“I am fully conversant with these constitutional duties and practically prepared to execute them with discipline, professionalism, loyalty, and accountability,” he assured.
Commitment to Unity and Service
Outlining what he brings to the table, Kankam cited his experience in public communication, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, his understanding of governance and political organisation, and his strong grassroots connections within New Juaben North.
He described his leadership approach as principled, ethical, consultative, and unifying.
He stressed that his decision to contest is not motivated by personal ambition, but by a desire to serve the Party selflessly and contribute to its long-term strength and cohesion.
As the NPP enters a new phase of internal reorganisation, Kankam called on party members to remain united, democratic, and focused on the broader objective of building a stronger Party.
“Our collective strength lies not in individual ambition, but in our shared commitment to the NPP and the future of Ghana,” he stated.
Daniel Twumasi Kankam concluded by appealing to party members for their support, prayers, and constructive engagement as the Party works towards consolidating its structures at the constituency level.
