The executives of the Bonoman Institute, led by the Founder and Executive Director of Affairs, Francis Ansu Gyabaa, and the Executive Director of Operations, Atta Akoto Senior, have paid visits to some Bono citizens in Accra. They briefed them about the mission, vision, and objectives of the institution.
The visit became necessary since the development of Bonoman is a top priority for the Institute. Therefore, it was imperative to call on all Bono natives across the globe to support this laudable initiative, which aims to put the Bono Regions on the international scene for development.
Among the people visited were Professor Ameyaw Akumfi, former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Techiman South; Mr. Kofi Okofo Dartey, former Chief Internal Auditor, Director of Finance, Corporate Planning, Strategy, and former Director of Corporate Affairs at GRIDCo, who is also the Dean of the Bonoman Institute.
The Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Lawyer Alfred Tuah Yeboah, and a former Commissioner of the Customs Division at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Colonel Kwadwo Damoah, were also visited. Some members of parliament from the Bono and Bono East Regions were among others.
The aforementioned VIPs wholeheartedly welcomed the initiative and pledged their full support. They expressed that together, as one people, we can project Bonoman on the international stage. At the Parliament House, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa West, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, shed more light on how the Bono people could preserve their culture, identify, and project the Bono Twi Language by documenting it to serve as a guide and a sense of pride for the new generation since language is the core foundation of every society.
Okofo Darteh, MP for Jaman South, and other MPs gathered also provided more inputs and guidelines on programs, activities, and advocacies that the Institution could successfully implement.
Francis Ansu Gyabaa, the Founder and Executive Director of Affairs, asserted that the Bonoman Institute is for development. Our prime objective is to champion the development of the Bono Regions and Ghana as a whole to positively impact social lives.
He was of the view that public order, personal security, economic progress, social progress, and prosperity are not the natural order of things. That for every opportunity that crosses our path, the ultimate purpose is to utilize it for the general good. He further stated that selfishness literally truncates the flow of the happiness of humanity.
The Bonoman Institute stands for the progress of society and humanity. It is, therefore, expedient to enroll in activities, programs, and policies which could highlight and harness the potential of the Bono people and Ghanaians at large to bring about change. Development cannot be guaranteed if the people are not prepared for it.
The mission of the Bonoman Institute is to be a resource hub that works to enhance the absolute development of the Bono people through documentation, preservation, and promotion of their culture, history, and heritage, as well as to highlight and enhance their potential to contribute to local, regional, national, and global economic development.
