The MCE for Ga South Municipal Assembly, Joseph Nyarni Stephen has cut sod for the constrution of a 3-unit classroom block in Tebu, a farming community in the Domeabra-Obom Constituency.

The project which is been funded by the assembly is expected to be completed within four months.

The community hitherto has only 6-unit classroom block which do not have a JHS facility.

The facility is unable to accommodate the pupils who qualified for Junior High School and the leadership of the school were, therefore, compelled to erect a thatch structure for the JHS students.

Currently, the school runs shift system due to lack of space.

Following a tour across the municipality during his early days in office, the MCE appreciated the challenges of the school and decided to provide a 3-unit classroom block.

The project is made up of 3 standard classrooms, office for the head teacher, staff common room and a store to keep teaching materials.

The project is geared towards the MCE's vision of improving access to Education which is in conjunction with SDG goal 4.

The current state of the school

In a brief ceremony to kick start the project which was attended by the chiefs and residents of the community, the Municipal Educational Director, and the Municipal Chief Executive and some staff of the assembly, the MCE charged the contractor to ensure the project is completed on time as there is "no time to waste".

The Municipal Education Director Felicia Agyeibea Okai commended the MCE for the kind gesture.

She recalled some of the infrastructural projects the MCE has embarked on since he came to office namely the Kokrobite School, the Obom School, and provision of over 3500 desks to schools within the municipality.
