Professor Kingsley Nyarko breaking grounds for the project to begin
The Member of Parliament for the Kwadaso Constituency and former Deputy Minister for Education in charge of TVET, Professor Kingsley Nyarko, has joined the Municipal Chief Executive, the Municipal Coordinating Director, heads of educational institutions, and Assembly Members to cut the sod for the commencement of major infrastructure projects in selected Senior High Schools across the constituency.
The projects, all initiated through the office of the Member of Parliament, include the construction of dormitory blocks, modern dining facilities, classroom blocks with ancillary facilities, and administration blocks for three Senior High Schools.
The beneficiary institutions are Methodist Technical Institute, Agric Nzema Senior High School, and Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School.
At Methodist Technical Institute, the scope of work includes the construction of a two-storey administration block, a two-storey classroom block, a two-storey dormitory, and two washroom facilities, aimed at strengthening academic delivery and institutional management.
Agric Nzema Senior High School will benefit from a two-storey classroom block equipped with water tanks and a reservoir, as well as a modern dining hall with a fully furnished kitchen, significantly improving student welfare and learning conditions.
Meanwhile, Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School will receive a three-storey, 18-unit classroom block and a two-storey dormitory to address long-standing infrastructure deficits and enhance access to quality education. All the projects have been awarded to Engineering Face Limited.
Speaking at the various school sites, Prof. Nyarko commended his colleague, the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, for his swift and positive response to formal requests submitted for critical educational infrastructure, particularly for Methodist Technical Institute and Agric Nzema Senior High School.
He described the projects as timely and strategic interventions that will significantly ease pressure on existing facilities and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. He also expressed appreciation to all stakeholders whose collective efforts made the projects possible.
Professor Nyarko emphasised that governance is a continuum, stressing that development must remain people-centred and uninterrupted, regardless of changes in leadership.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Municipal Assembly to pursue additional development initiatives that respond directly to the needs of the people of Kwadaso.
In conclusion, the Kwadaso MP cautioned the contractor and consultants to adhere strictly to project timelines and quality standards to ensure durability and value for money. He further urged the leadership of the GETFund to provide the necessary support to guarantee the successful and timely completion of the projects.
The heads of the beneficiary schools commended Prof Kingsley Nyarko and the leadership of the Municipal Assembly for their proactive efforts, noting that the new facilities will greatly enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
They expressed confidence that the strong collaboration between the MP and the Municipal Chief Executive will continue to attract more development projects to the municipality.
