Yendi, June 27, GNA - The Kampakuya-Na Abdulai Yakubu Andani, acting King of Dagbon has called on Ghanaians, especially Dagombas to emulate the unity that the victories of the National Team, the Black Star in the ongoing World Cup in Germany have brought to the country. "We need to bury our differences and forge ahead in unity to develop Dagbon in particular and the country as a whole."

Kampakuya Na Andani noted: "For instance it is unity that has made players and handlers of the Black Star to achieve what some people thought they could not achieve. This means that if we also remain united we would achieve more successes for our country."

The Kampakuya-Na made the call at a press conference at the Naa Gbewaa Palace in Yendi on Sunday to congratulate the players and technical handlers of the Black Star on the successes chalked in the ongoing World Cup.

He said: "It is refreshing to note that Dagbon was not left out in the euphoria. I have received reports from across Dagbon, which tell exciting stories of the jubilant men, women and children, irrespective of their affiliation in the chieftaincy divide celebrating the victories together.

"This is healthy for unity in Dagbon. I wish to urge all Dagbombas to emulate the unity of the players, which made them to achieve the victories.

=91I am also calling on Dagombas to pray fervently for the Black Star to beat the Brazilian National Team convincingly on Tuesday, June 27.' Kampakuya-Na Andani said he was excited about the internal political benefits borne out of the victories, pointing out that the victories had given some respite, with respect to the political antagonisms and their attendant tensions, which had characterised "our daily lives" as a country.

The acting King said he and the Kingdom of Dagbon wished the Black Star victory on June 27 over Brazil and in subsequent matches.
