Fear has swept through the Kwabenya Comet community in Accra following the brutal killing of a commercial motorbike rider, commonly known as an Okada, according to myjoyonline.com report.

According to the news report, the murder marks the second of its kind in the area in recent months, deepening concerns over public safety.

The unidentified victim was discovered with his throat slit, a reminder of the earlier murder of Immigration Officer Stephen Amoah, who was killed in a similar manner in the same neighbourhood.

Residents say the repeated incidents have left them terrified and questioning the effectiveness of security measures.

Locals describe the community as one that is filled with people living in fear, with many reluctant to step out at night.

"We are not safe anymore," one resident is reported to have lamented.

"We need immediate police action before more lives are lost."

Police have confirmed the launch of an investigation but have yet to make any arrests, the report added.

Community members are calling for urgent police intervention and improved security patrols to curb what they describe as a “reign of terror” in the area.

The Kwabenya area’s rapid urbanisation and dense population, coupled with poorly lit streets and sprawling settlements, pose challenges for law enforcement, making it easier for criminals to evade detection.
