  Ghanaians cannot rely on the police for their security. The police are instead taking bribes from these criminals or are covertly engaged with these criminals in their criminalities . The communities must form their own vigilante groups to protect themselves. The IGP and the minister of interior are not to the task . Ghana has never witnessed the kind of criminality as it is now since independence. Ghanaians everywhere are living in fear. It is not safe either at home or while traveling in a vehicle due to armed robbery. Then there is the ritualistic killings all over the country with the police not able to tackle it . How do we expect the country to develop when people are afraid to go out . The 24 hour economy will be negatively impacted if Ghanaians are not assured of their safety. The IGP and the minister of interior must sit up . Ghanaians need a dynamic minister of interior and it is time to consider COP Kofi Boakye for the position.
