The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is arguably not only the most powerful traditional ruler in Ghana but also the best dancer among all chiefs in the country.

Most traditional rulers in the country can be seen ‘trying’ to dance at public events but they cannot match the dancing prowess of the king of Asanteman.

Otumfuo Osei II, who is 74 years old, has on several occasions dazzled Ghanaians with captivating performances of the Adowa dance, of the Akan culture.

The king dances so energetically and skilfully that one might even forget that he is an ‘old man’.

The latest traditional ruler who has come to know of the dancing prowess of the Asantehene is the chairman of the Council of State and Omanhene of Asante Juaben, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, who made the mistake of ‘challenging’ the king to a dance-off.

The posture of the Asantehene alone won the battle before he moved in with some sweet Adowa moves.
