A retired Director of Education, Madam Beatrice Prempeh, has underscored the importance of the day care system in the educational setting.
She said the day care system prepares children to adequately go through play and other activity methods to enable them to become familiar with the classroom situation before they begin primary school.
Madam Prempeh was addressing the first and ninth graduation ceremony for both the Solomon Bennett Memorial School and Kiddies Paradise Pre-School in Sunyani. The event was under the theme “Quality education can only be built on better foundation”.
The retired educationist congratulated the proprietress of Kiddies Paradise Pre-School and Solomon Bennett Memorial School, Miss Grace Shelia Bennett for her foresight in establishing the two schools to offer children in the area access to quality education.
The Solomon Bennett School has been ranked among the best schools in the Brong-Ahafo region after recording one hundred percent results in the BECE.
All the seventeen pioneer students who sat for the 2011 BECE had aggregate six with almost all the students scoring grade one in all subjects. One hundred and twelve pupils also graduated from the kindergarten to the primary department.
Madam Prempeh was full of praise for the 17 pioneering students for their sterling performance in the BECE, saying “I doff my hat to the first batch of our junior high school students who are graduating today for recording 100% passes. They have actually set the pace for the rest of the students to emulate”.
The joint graduation ceremony witnessed wonderful performances of several activities including choreography dance, poetry recitals, and fashion shows among others by the pupils of Kiddies Paradise.
