Moreshet Foundation has joined the Private Foundations Constituency of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), strengthening its commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable access to quality education in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).

SDG 4 seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The Foundation said its membership would provide an opportunity to amplify African philanthropic perspectives in global education discussions, partnerships and decision-making, while supporting efforts to build more inclusive and equitable education systems.

Moreshet Foundation was represented at the constituency’s recent hustings by Betty Akuffo-Amoabeng, a member of its Advisory Council. She and Dr Richard Boadu, a member of the Board of Trustees, will represent the Foundation within the constituency.

The Foundation also congratulated Lucy Lake of the Yidan Prize Foundation and Dr Andrew Cunningham of the Aga Khan Foundation on their re-election as constituency leaders.

It expressed its readiness to work with them and other members to advance shared education priorities and strengthen collaboration among philanthropic institutions and development partners.

Moreshet Foundation further called for greater cooperation to ensure that African voices play a meaningful role in shaping global education policies and initiatives.

The development reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to using philanthropy to advance sustainable development and social transformation.

Moreshet Foundation is an independent philanthropic organisation focused on four strategic areas: Education, Sustainable Energy, Governance and Social Equity.
