President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called for a peaceful co-existence between the Western and Western North Regions for massive development within the two Regions.
The President made the call when he met with the Chiefs and people of Sefwi Wiawso at a durbar during his two-day working visit to the Western-North Region.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 commenced his two-day working visit to the newly created Western-North Region to engaged and cut sod for some development projects in the area.
At Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, the President cut the sod for the construction of the main Campus of the Bibiani College of Health Sciences, and paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Sefwi Wiawso.
The President in his day two of his visit cut sod for the construction of Sefwi Wiawso town roads and later inspect the proposed site for the construction of the Western North Regional Coordinating Council.
The Omanhene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II entreated the people of the Western North Region not mount unnecessary pressure on the president and appealed to the president to fix the bad road network in the Region.
President Akufo-Addo then continued his visit to Bia West (ESSAM) to cut a sod for the construction of a Warehouse, then to Juaboso to do a sod cutting for Juaboso town roads and move to Suaman (Dadieso) to commission an upgraded District Health Hospital.
The President and his entourage proceeded to Sefwi Akontombra for Town Hall Meeting with the Chiefs and people of Akontombra to run up activities in the Western North Region.
The visit to the region is the president maiden visit after the region was created in December through a referendum.
He was accompanied by the Hon. Joe Ghartey, Minister for Railways and Development, Hon. Allan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, Minister for Trade, Hon. Dan Kwaku Botwe, Minister for Regional Integration and Reorganization, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board, Mr. Joseph Boahene Aidoo, Head of Local Government Service, Nana Ato Dadzie, Wetern North Regional Minister, Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu and his deputy Alex Tetteh among other high profile government functionaries.
